Oregon Lifeguard Air Medical Regretfully Announces the Closure of Tillamook Operations

On behalf of the LG9 crews, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of our Tillamook Base. We would like to take a moment and thank all of the communities, agencies, hospitals and all our supporters. It has been an honor to serve you over the past 18 months. Together, we have saved many lives and enhanced the overall health of the community. We would also like to thank Tillamook Regional Medical Center and Tillamook Ambulance for their generosity and support of the program. Unfortunately, the long periods of inclement weather made it hard to complete many of our missions and, ultimately led to the decision to cease operations. We have established many friendships along the way and could not have done our job without your support. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and God bless!

Oregon Lifeguard Air Medical regretfully announces the closure of all operations at its Tillamook Oregon base effective immediately. Oregon Lifeguard was put in place to support the local hospitals and emergency medical services in the area 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but has found the weather too difficult of an obstacle to operate safely and consistently.  The medical professionals, search and rescue personnel, law enforcement  and the entire community showed tremendous support, encouragement and the willingness to form our working relationships.  We cannot thank everyone enough for being there for us when we were trying to be there for you.
We have contacted Life Flight Network and they have agreed to accept the Oregon Lifeguard Membership as there own in our absence.  We will be sending out a letter to all of our members with information regarding the option of transferring memberships to Life Flight Network or receiving a prorated refund.
Again, Thank you very much for all of the support.  The decision to leave the Oregon Coastal community was a very difficult and emotional decision.
